Common 7 Week Old Baby Development:
Reaching out: There are a lot of developments your baby has gone through by now. Seven weeks after his birth has given him the chance to open his hands and reach out. Although grabbing may be purely instinctual, he could not let go of things easily. Because of this, you might not want to hold sharp or hot object while holding him. He might reach for it, causing unwanted outcomes.
Learning: There are times when your baby becomes active and lively. This is a great time to interact with your baby – talking, singing and even describing pictures to him is a great step to his learning. Though he may not respond yet, his brain is slowly recognizing the things you showed him. Even touching and feeling with his hands helps him learn. Bathing is also a way for him to understand the ways of life.
Tracking objects: His little eyes may now start to track objects consistently. Placing things in front of him that can catch his attention is a good way to practice eye contact. There are several great toys available; here are the top 5 baby toys. You can also try it as well with everyday objects. Eye-to-eye contact while nodding your head is also one good way to catch his attention.
You should always remember that babies are unique and developments should differ from another. If your baby has not still developed the ones stated above, you should not worry. Soon, they will be able to develop them! If you think that there’s something different with your baby, you should ask your health care provider.
