7 Weeks Pregnant – What to Expect

Congratulations! Your baby has developed and grown very quickly! Though it may not be visible enough for onlookers, the development inside your womb is incomparable. Hands and feet are slowly emerging and the development from the beginning of the week should double at the end of this week. There should be a lot of changes in the baby’s appearance and your body’s response.

Mother:

  • During this week, you may still not be showing much, but you should savor this moment as this won’t last long. Your normal jeans may not fit like usual anymore. You may start to think about purchasing maternity clothes.
  • You will still be experiencing morning sickness and if you’re more likely to have migraines and headaches, they may become worse or get better at this stage.
  • Your uterus has doubled its size.
  • Eating may also be difficult, since the aromas may make you nauseous.  Stick with cold foods instead of warmed foods like cooked vegetables.
  • Learn how to decrease morning sickness here, and find out when you should schedule your first pregnancy appointment.

Baby:

  • Development has become more and more visible and your baby’s hands and feet are appearing.
  • Eyelid folds are also visible, as well as the tip of the nose.
  • The two hemispheres of the brain are also growing and the liver is stirring out red blood cells until the bone marrow is formed.
  • The appendix and pancreas are slowly showing and sooner or later they will produce the hormone insulin to help the digestion process.

As you can see, there are a lot of developments that have happened inside your womb, so it is important that you become more and more health-conscious as your baby grows.  It is actually getting pretty exciting to know about the development of your baby inside you!  It only gets better from here so enjoy the ride!  Reading about your pregnancy in books is a great way to increase the knowledge of your baby.  Consider reading some of these top pregnancy books!
