9 Month Old Baby Development

Your baby actually develops a lot of skills by the time she’s 9 months old. She begins to move around and starts to become picky on the foods she eats and even the time she goes to sleep. To know more about her developments, read more below!

9-month old developments:

  • Babies by this age can start to crawl. They start to cruise around the house, grabbing things and can even sometimes pull themselves up on things.  At this time, you should always have a baby gate put up.
  • She may now be able to respond when you call her name.
  • She begins to comprehend a few words such as “no” and “bye-bye”.
  • Babies during this age also start to play interactive games such as peek-a-boo.
  • They are also capable of sitting independently.
  • They begin to use their fingers and thumb to poke, pry, and pick up small objects.
  • One good thing is that you won’t have to stay awake all night because your baby is! At this age, they should definitely be able to sleep throughout the night, though there are times when they’re awake occasionally due to things like teething.
  • They also learn to choose who they interact with. They tend to get afraid of people they interact less with. They also start to perceive a dim view of being observed by a doctor.
  • Their front bottom teeth may start to show up.  If so, learn some teething symptoms here!

Babies develop faster than you think, each day they learn something new, whether it’s big or small! And as you watch them grow, be sure to treasure all those moments. If you haven’t seen your baby do the things stated above, you shouldn’t worry! Babies develop at different rates so maybe now is still not the time for them. But just make sure to visit her doctor if ever you feel anything’s wrong with her! It’s best to assure yourself than to compromise her health.
