Knowing that we’re pregnant is an overwhelming feeling when we experience it for the first time. We just expect the test to always say “negative” or (-). Although, when it no longer is negative, we are filled with a ton of different emotions. We’re excited, a little scared, and can’t stop thinking about the future. We instantly want to know what our pregnancy is going to be like, we wonder if it’s a boy or girl, and we may even be thinking about what they’ll look like.
Although, if you’re 9 weeks pregnant, you still have quite a ways to go. This is a good thing though, this gives you plenty of time to learn about pregnancy with a pregnancy book, how to take care of a baby when they arrive, and gives you time to get all the supplies they need, while decorating their nursery.
For now, lets take a look at what to expect when we’re 9 weeks:
Mother:
- Mood swings start to set in.
- Your emotions will change – women find it easy to cry about little things.
- Fatigue may get to you.
- You may even notice a tiny little bump in your belly. This is usually only noticed by you, not even your partner.
- You may also find yourself a little gassier than usual.
- Morning sickness may start to kick in.
- Your uterus is now the size of a cantaloupe instead of a pear which it starts out as.
Baby:
- Your baby is about the size of a large grape.
- It weighs less than one ounce, although it will grow tremendously in size each week!
- Your baby also has most of it’s body parts including head, arms, legs, and torso
Although you don’t look pregnant yet, that will change in the future. Before you know it, your baby will be hear and you and your baby will be much bigger than day one! For now, enjoy being your small self because that will soon change!
