A Sample Baby Schedule for a 1-2 Month Old

We all want our little ones to get into a great routine that they can stick to.  We want them to be able to sleep throughout the night, and we want them to be able to eat and play during the day.  Although, as you may already know, that may take some time before it really takes effect.  If you’re trying to get your little one on a good schedule, consider this sample one for example!

6:00 a.m. –  Try to feed your baby about 4-6 ounces of formula at this time.  They most likely will have slept for a couple hours, and are starting to get hungry.  Not to mention, most babies will fall back asleep after a warm bottle.

8:30-9:30 a.m. - Our little one will most likely wake up once again.  You will want to give them another bottle to cure their hunger, and to get them sleepy again.

10:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m. - At this time, they’re usually up for a few hours, and ready to play.  Now, we want to make sure we’re giving them a lot of attention.  This means play with them, feed them, hold them, rock them, etc.  You want them to know that during the day is when we play, and eat.  While at night is for sleeping, and relaxing.

11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. – This is a great time to eat some lunch (bottle).  They will usually have an appetite from playing, and because they haven’t eaten for a few hours.  After eating, it will be right back to bed.

12:30 p.m.-3:30p.m. -  Our little one will usually take a couple hour nap to relax, and catch up on their much needed sleep.

3:30 p.m.: Once they wake up, they will get a bottle to satisfy their hunger, and will be ready to play again.

6:30-7:30 – We will all eat dinner as a family (assuming everyone is home from work), and our little one will get another bottle of formula.

7:30 p.m. – Once we’re done eating and our baby is relaxed we will give them a bath to relax them even more (although this isn’t necessary everyday.)

9 p.m.-12 a.m.: We watch TV and rock our baby, or we let them lay down in their mini crib.

3:30 a.m. – Our baby is up and ready to eat again.  Repeat this schedule.

Most schedules for babies are relatively close.  The times may be a little bit different, but our babies will eat every few hours, and take a nap every couple hours.  If you’re looking to start your little one on a routine, consider this one!  You will be able to go to bed at a reasonable hours (when having a baby), and you will be able to sleep throughout the night with only a few interruptions.
