Do you have a little one on the way? If so, congratulations! Having a baby is a very exciting time in our life, if not the most exciting! A lot of mothers like to start exercising while they’re pregnant to make sure they don’t put on too much weight after they have the baby. If you’re one of them, you always want to make sure you exercise carefully. Not only do we have to look out for ourselves, but for a baby as well. To make sure you’re exercising properly, consider a few of these tips!
Doctor – You should always talk to your doctor before you start exercising. They will give you a good idea what you can do, and what you can’t do. Not to mention, they will give you tips just for you and baby. It’s always better to be safe than sorry.
Fluids - Always make sure you’re loaded with fluids. This goes for when you’re not even pregnant. It is recommended that you have a 8 oz. glass before you exercise, during, and after. Water is very important and will help keep you and your little one hydrated.
Stretch – Stretching should always be done before you exercise. They say that when you stretch you will also help tighten, and stretch the muscles along your back. Which will then help with your back pain.
Sleep – Make sure you always get enough sleep each night. When we’re pregnant we’re often much tireder than when we’re not. So, plan to sleep for two people now! Sleep is very important especially when we’re exercising.
Lifting – You never want to lift more than you can handle. Talk to your doctor about how much you can lift throughout your pregnancy. The more developed you are, the less you will be able to lift. So, make sure you’re exercising by doing easier things like walking and doing less strenuous exercises.
You always want to make sure you’re doing more good than harm. So, before you even start exercising, you may want to consider a few of these tips, and talk to your doctor before you get into a routine.
