Bathing Your Baby – Safety Tips

When giving our little ones a bath, we want to make their time enjoyable, fun, and something to look forward to.  Not every baby enjoys a bath so it is important to try and make the experience as good as possible.  Also, when we’re giving our baby a bath, it is important to always consider their safety.  Water and babies isn’t always a good mix, so make sure you’re always thinking about their safety with these tips!

Keep an eye out - First of all, there is nothing more important than keeping an eye out for your baby.  Never leave your baby unattended, and make sure you’re always in the room with them as long as they are in the bath tub.  Whether the phone rings, your other kid is yelling etc, never leave them alone.

Toys – Also, make sure you watch them when they’re playing with their bath toys.  It is always important to never give them too small of toys.  You don’t want them to choke, so make sure once again, you’re watching them at all times!

Soaps – Our babies love to stick their fingers in their mouth, and that is natural.  Although, don’t allow them to eat up the soap.  It sounds silly, but make sure they’re not putting anything toxic in their mouth, because if they could, you know they probably would.

Water temperature – Also, make sure the water temperature is okay for them.  Never make the water too hot or too cold.  You don’t want to shock them, and you don’t want to burn their delicate skin.  So, always make sure you test the water before you place them in it!

TIP: If you want to make sure you don’t give your baby too hot of a bath, be sure to consider a water temperature tester.  This will tell you if the water is too hot, too warm, just right, ect.

There are quite a few things you need to look out for when giving your baby a bath.  Babies are curious, and like to try new things, therefore it is important to keep an eye out for them.  Also, we can’t stress it enough to never let your baby stay in the bathtub unattended.  This happens too often, is a huge safety concern!
