I highly recommend getting your baby a Boppy Pillow. These are wonderful and give you and your baby a lot more support. They take the weight off your arms and prop your baby up nicely!
Although, what may be a little difficult is finding a position that is comfortable for you and your baby both. If you’re looking for some of the best positions, continue reading below!
This is one of the easiest positions for mothers. You will want to sit in a propped up chair with armrests. Now, hold your baby across your body with their head at one breast and their feet at the other. Simply hold under your baby’s head with your elbow and prop them up to your breast.
Cross Cradle Hold:
For this position you will want to hold your baby across your body once again. This one is just a little different though, you will want to hold your baby’s trunk and head with your forearm and palm. Now, with your other hand place it in a U-shape underneath your breast. This position is best for early breastfeeding.
This position is great if you’ve just had a C-section or if you have larger breasts! For this position, you will want to hold your baby at your side with your elbow bent. With your hand, support your baby’s face and head. Now, with your other hand, hold your breast in a C-shape up to their mouth.
This is a great position for in the middle of the night. Now, lie on your side and face your baby towards your breast. Wrap your arm around your baby’s head and body so they can’t roll over, and with your other arm support your own head. This is very easy to do!
As you can see, there are some great positions to try with your baby. They are all great for different times of the day and for different people. Try them all out to see what you like best!
