If you’ve decided that you want to breastfeed, that is a great choice. A lot of mom’s try it out and give up rather quickly. By allowing your baby to breastfeed, you’re creating a great bond with them, and giving them the healthiest milk possible. There are several questions mom’s have when it comes to breastfeeding. For example, what are the basic guidelines when it comes to breast milk?
Room Temperature (66-72° F)
When you pump your breast milk, you are able to keep it for up to 4-8 hours at room temperature. I wouldn’t recommend going any longer than that.
Refrigerator (29-32° F)
If you’d like to make it last even longer, try putting it in the fridge. When you do this, it will last 3-8 days. The only hassle is that you’ll need to warm it up with a bottle warmer.
Freezer (4-20° F)
Freezing is another great way to keep it fresh. You can keep it in the freezer for up to 3-4 months! Need some breast milk storage containers? Check out these best-sellers!
Deep freezer (0° F)
To make your milk last as long as possible, you’ll want to deep freeze it. A deep freezer allows it to remain fresh until 6-12 months.
I highly recommend that moms use a breast milk once and a while. It will allow you to have your partner feed the baby in the middle of the night, and also allow others to bond with them. Not to mention, nipples can become cracked and very soar if they don’t get a break.
Using a breast pump is a great thing and allows a lot of convenience! It is easier to give your baby a bottle in public than with breastfeeding! It will also allow your engorged breasts to feel at ease and let out the pressure.

Yeah, this is great! I highly recommend freezing your breastmilk if you have extra, it’s the best way to store it so it doesn’t go to waste!
This is good to know! I’m always afraid I’m giving my baby milk that’s too old. At the same time though, I don’t want to let it go to waste!
I agree, freezing your milk is the way to go!
