Answer: The answer to the question is yes.  You may not feel like you want to go running, or even swim laps, but you may have that urge to do something.  Exercising is one of the best ways to eliminate stress, and it makes us feel so much better mentally, and physically.  Therefore, most doctors will encourage that you do exercise.  Taking care of your body is important, and the happier you are with less stress, the better it is for your baby.  So, we can exercise, but what are the limits that we can push?

Limit yourself: Since we’re pregnant we don’t want to lift heavy weights, or strain anything.  Instead, we want to do light to moderate exercising.  This means walking to brisk walking, slow rollerblading, doing yoga, those certain types of things.  Yoga and stretching is highly recommended while you’re pregnant.  It helps ease the mind, and makes your body feel great when you’re done.  Not to mention, it is supposed to help take some of the strain off your back by building, and stretching those muscles!

Exercising while you’re pregnant is great if you do it correctly.  I recommend that you speak with your doctor to see what exactly you can do without going too far.  It also depends on how far along you are as well.  Also, make sure you’re fully hydrated, you avoid too hot and humid of weather, eat small snacks and that you take breaks in between.  If you’re looking to find the benefits of exercising while pregnant, consider this article!
