How to Calculate Due Date for Your Baby

Once we find out that we’re pregnant and that test shows up as positive (+), we’re extatic!  We’re already wondering what the gender is, how long we’ve been pregnant and how we’re going to tell our significant other.  The road ahead is nothing but excitement!  One thing you may be dieing to know is when the due date is.  This is different for everyone obviously, and it revolved around a few things.  To figure out your due date, continue reading below.

  1. To start, when was the first day of your last period?
  2. Now, add 7 days to that and subtract by three months.
  3. Once you’ve figure that out, you now have the due date of your baby!

For example:  The last day of your period was September 22nd, now I add 7 days and subtract by three months.  The due date is June 29th!

Or you can do it this way:

  1. Again, what was the first day of your last period?
  2. Now, once you’ve got that number add 280 days to that number.

For example:  The first day of your last period was September 22nd, now I will add 280 days to that number which once again turns out to be June 29th!  (The other one may be easier to figure out!)

Finding out the due date of your baby is very easy to do.  It takes just a couple seconds and you can find out when your little bundle of joy will be here!  Also, when you go to see your OB/GYN for the first time, they will confirm that date with you just so you know for sure.  Although, what is funny is that only 5% of babies are actually born on the exact day of their due date.  So, don’t count on that exact day, but instead a few days before or a few days after!  It is different for everyone!
