Whether your baby is cranky and you want to make them happy, or you’re just looking to play with your little one, there are several ways to do that.  Entertaining a baby can be a lot of fun because you never know how they’re going to react!  Some will smile, giggle, look puzzled, etc and the expressions alone are enough of a reason to play with them.  Consider a few of these fun ways to play with your baby.

For babies 12 months +:

Books – There are several great books out there to choose from.  Babies love pictures, designs, and colors.  They are instantly attracted to them, so just letting them look at a book alone will entertain them for a cheap price!

Clap – Babies love to clap, if you clap in front of them, and get them to do it, they will do it non stop.  They love the sound it makes, and the motion.  They can’t do too much, but clapping is something they’ll be proud of.

Videos – Also, babies love to sit back, and watch what’s going on.  Get a fun videos with maybe some animals, and fun pictures that you can play on TV.  They like to hear new sounds, see new sights, and are just curious all around.

Peek-a-boo – Babies at this age still believe that if you can’t see it, it’s not there.  So, that is why peek-a-boo is such a fun game to play with your little one.  The fact that you’re face is there one minute, and gone the next really gets them thinking!

Roll – Try to get your baby to roll a ball with you.  If you roll it to them, see if they can try and push it back.  This is great for coordination, grasping, and is a good exercise for the body and brain.

Entertaining your little one doesn’t have to be expensive, and can even be done in the comfort of your own home.  Consider a few of these ideas, and see how your baby reacts, and has fun with it!
