It is sometimes hard to part with our little one’s in the beginning, but they definitely need their rest, especially newborns. If your baby is having a hard time falling sleep, wants to continue playing or dreads bedtime you may want to consider a few of these tips. Listed below are a few ways to get your little one to sleep at night.
Sleeping Tips:
Importance: First of all, you need to realize the importance of sleep for your baby. They need it to grow, rest, continue developing, etc. Therefore you must make it your top priority for them!
Routine: Making a routine for bedtime is important. If your schedule is all over the place so will your babies. Make sure you put them down at the same time each day, play with them and feed them at all the same times.
Awake: Even if your little one is awake put them down to sleep. They will eventually quit crying and get worn out sooner or later. If you continue to hold them, rock them, read to them etc they will expect that every time before bedtime. Therefore, when you don’t do those activities beforehand they won’t know it’s bedtime.
Feeding: Feeding them a bottle before bedtime is a good idea for each night. It relaxes them, helps them calm down for the night and will eventually make them tired. So hold on to them, make them comfortable and give them their bottle.
Massage: Sometimes turning out the lights, turning down the volume on the TV and just massaging them will help them fall asleep. Rub their soft skin, their head and help them relax more.
Getting your little one to fall asleep can be harder some nights than others. Therefore if you run into a problem you may want to consider some of these tips. These help relax, get your baby in the rhythm of bedtime and let them know when they need to go to sleep.
