When we’re pregnant we often gain a little more weight than we would have liked to. This makes us feel a little discouraged and feeling bad about ourselves. Goal: First of all, what is your goal? Make this goal realistic! If you’d like to lose 20 lbs, say you’d like to lose 20 lbs in 10 weeks. That is just 2 lbs per week and a realistic goal to set. When we have a time frame that we want to lose it by, we work harder and keep disciplined longer.
Breastfeed: They say that breastfeeding is one of the best and fastest ways to lose weight after pregnancy. It keeps your body working hard, pumping and active. Supply your baby with nutrients while losing weight!
Daily: You must realize that to lose weight, you need to have that motivation daily. You can’t diet one day and pig out the next. Keep a consistent pattern going. Once you do something for 30 days straight it becomes a habit. Work your way into making a healthy lifestyle a habit.
Exercise: There are several exercise routines you can participate in. If you look at any fitness magazines, they will have several work out routines to follow. Or, try playing your favorite sports weekly or taking the dog or your new baby for a walk each day. All it takes is just 30-45 minutes of being active daily to lose weight!
Rest: Be sure to get enough rest. It is recommended that you get at least 8 hours of a sleep each night. So, let your body rest, recover and fuel up on energy so that you can go about your day the healthy way.
Discipline: You must have discipline. Join a weight loss group with your friends and keep each other motivated. To do anything in life, it takes motivation and discipline. Just remember, if you want to be in shape you need to make changes. There is no food that tastes as good as it feels to be skinny!
