Most Common Reasons Baby Cry

We’ve all run into that situation where our baby is crying, their face is turning red because they’re so angry, and we’re holding them unsure of what to do.  We hate when we run into this problem, because we as moms feel like we should be able to help them, and calm them down just by holding them.  If you run into this once and a while, this is completely natural, so don’t feel bad.  Instead, try to learn why your baby may be crying.  Listed below are the top reasons babies cry.

- Your baby may be hungry
- The temperature may be uncomfortable (too hot, chilly)
- A dirty diaper could definitely do the trick
- An upset stomach (usually colic, gas)
- Your baby may be sleepy, and needs rest.  Remember, newborns and some babies sleep 15-19 hours a day!
- Teething is another issue with babies.  It hurts, and they want to tell you that!  Consider getting some Orajel, or some teething toys if this is the case.

HINT: RaZ-berries are very popular for teething toys!

- They may need to be burped, especially if they just ate.  So, rest them on your shoulder, and let them burp away.
- Your baby may just want to be held.  Try holding them in your arms, and then if that doesn’t work rest them on your shoulder.

Babies cry for several different reasons.  If you’re running into these problems, try to consider a few of these reasons.  These are the most common reasons why babies cry.  If these don’t work, really there isn’t much you can do.  It hurts us as a mom, but sometimes you just need to let them cry.  They are fussy, and just want to let out their anger, so let them do it.  Comfort them, but don’t get upset because it’s not your fault.  Instead, just comfort them, and accept that babies will cry!
