Safe Car Rides With Your Baby

We all worry about our little one’s safety.  We want them protected and safe at all times.  One thing moms tend to worry about is there baby riding in the car.  Cars rides are dangerous enough, and to bring a baby along with us is something we need to be responsible about.  Babies riding in the car is fine, but it is important they ride in the car the right, and safe way.  How can you make sure your little one is safe at all times?

Introducing a Safe Atmosphere on The Road

  • Always use a car seat

You always want to make sure your little one is riding in a car seat.  Never, ever, take your baby in the car without a car seat.  Not only can you get in huge trouble with the law if you don’t use one, but your baby’s safety is not there.  We have an awesome selection on this website, be sure to check them out!

TIP:  It is also very important that we find a car seat that fits our baby properly.  We need to consider the height, weight, and age of our baby!  Also, make sure you keep an eye out for recalls and expiration dates!

  • Instruction manuals

When you put your baby in the car seat, make sure you read the manual and instructions to make sure you put it together properly, and that you seat them in it properly.  Also, know if they should be forward or rear facing.  Not to mention, make sure they’re buckled in tight, and the seat’s installed right.

TIP:  Do you know your state’s car seat laws?  If not, it’s time you get familiar with them!  Knowing your state’s car seat laws is important because they factor in the type of seat, weight of your child, height, age, as well as other things!  If you don’t follow these laws, it can result in fines, traffic violations, and even points on your record.

  • Snacks and drinks

We often want our babies to have a smooth ride, so we give them food and drinks, but maybe this isn’t the best idea.  You want to make sure they don’t choke on anything while you’re driving.  Remember, you’re driving so you can’t just stop in the middle of the road to help them, that will make matters even worse.  So, make sure they have nothing they can choke on around them.  They love to put things in their mouth, so be cautious about this!

  • No distractions

Also, you want to make sure your driving is safe.  Remember, we have our baby in the back seat, so make sure there are no distractions.  Keep the radio on low, stay off the phone, etc.  Without safe driving neither of you will be safe.  Just remember, there is nothing more important than keeping you and your baby safe!

It is important to make sure your little one is safe at all times.  You can make sure of this by keeping these tips in mind. It is always better to be safe than sorry, so be cautious of your little one!
