Sample Baby Schedule – 4 Months Old

At this point your baby is more than likely sleeping through the night, but if not, don’t worry!  All babies are different, have different needs and different temperaments.  The best advice I can give you is to set up a baby schedule with your little one.  This will keep your day organized, focused on getting things done, all while taking care of your baby and their needs.

If you’re in need of a baby schedule for your 4 month old, and you’re not sure where to start, consider the one below!   It doesn’t have to be the exact same times, but within an hour or two is great.

Sample Baby Schedule – 4 Months Old:

8 AM Your baby is probably up for the day.  Get them up, change their diaper, and give them a bottle or feeding.  Take this time to play with them and entertain them.

10:30 AM It’s almost time for their first nap, so be sure to change their diaper, give them another feeding and put them down for their first nap.  At this time, you should be able to get some stuff done around the house.  Doing laundry, putting the dishes away, and picking up around the house are all great ways to get your baby used to sounds even while sleeping.

1 PM  At this point they will be up for a few hours.  Give them a feeding, change their diaper and spend some time playing with them.  Let them get their tummy time in, while time to play with some baby toys.  Encourage them to start rolling over if they haven’t already!  A play mat is a great way to keep them entertained, exploring new things, and a great way to get them to roll over to grab things.

4:30 PM They may be rubbing their eyes now, so change their diaper, give them another bottle or feeding, and put them down for a nap.

6:30 PM At this point they are probably hungry like the rest of the family.  Get them up, give them a quick diaper change, and give them a feeding with the family.  If their pediatrician gave them the OK, give them a serving of rice cereal or some solid foods along with their milk/formula.

Once dinner is over, spend some time playing with them, and give them a bath.  Just keep in mind that bathing should only be 2-3 times a week to prevent dry skin.

8:30 PM  They should be getting ready for bed at this time.  So, change their diaper, put them into their pajamas, give them a bottle, and read them a book before bed.

This schedule is much easier than the previous ones you’ve encountered.  Hopefully your baby is sleeping through the night, but if not, no worries.  One day you will be able to sleep in like you used to!  Take this time to enjoy your baby, and to watch their everyday developments!  Also, your baby should be getting ready for their 4 month old baby appointment, so if you haven’t scheduled that already, make sure you do so!
