We always take good care of our baby, and so we don’t really want to see them sick, most especially if they’re vomiting. We are even more concerned if they’re having projectile vomiting, where vomit comes out forcefully.
There are actually a lot of reasons for vomiting and it’s not enough that we guess for it. You should consider talking to her doctor to know more about it. Most importantly, if your baby’s having a projectile vomiting, then it must be something that needs immediate action.
Common reasons for projectile vomiting:
- Projectile vomiting might be caused by an obstruction, and this requires immediate attention to prevent further problems. You should not compromise your child’s health and should not let too much time pass before visiting her doctor.
- Another probable cause for projectile vomiting could be Pyloric Stenosis. This is caused by the obstruction in the stomach and usually occurs when your baby is about four to six weeks old. You can notice this when soon after your baby’s done eating, she will have projectile vomiting. This is a serious problem so you should visit her doctor as soon as possible.
- Viruses and infections may also have her projectile vomiting. The best thing to do if she’s suffering from forceful vomiting is to consult her doctor immediately. It’s not always advisable to self-diagnose the causes for her vomiting and only doctors are suitable to tell what causes it.
- Not burping your baby good enough may be the case as well. Think of a burp as an air bubble trapped in their stomach, when it doesn’t come out through a burp, it may bring up formula or milk. Just realize the difference between spit up and projectile vomiting.
Always try contacting her doctor whenever you sense that something is wrong with your baby. And even if your baby is only spitting up, visiting her doctor won’t hurt and you should not feel embarrassed or worried. After all, all that matters to us is their health and it is okay to be overly cautious about them.
