When we’re pregnant, for some time we usually continue to work our job. Whether it’s to save up more money before the baby comes, or it’s because our job won’t let us take an early maternity leave, it is important to consider our health first. Our job may seem like everything to us, but it is important to take into consideration your health, and your babies. If you’re working while pregnant, consider a few of these tips to remain in good health!
Lifting - It is important to keep in mind that you can only lift a certain amount of weight, being very little. If your job requires you to do heavy lifting, always make sure you don’t lift more than you should/can handle.
Stress – When we work a job, there is usually some amount of stress involved. Whether it’s getting up early in the morning, the long hours, or just the stress of working the job, it is important to try and control it. Don’t let your job stress you out too much, instead make sure you take time for yourself, get enough sleep, and maintain somewhat of a stress free life. Stress isn’t good for your or your baby, so try to eliminate some!
Too much – If your job is getting to be too much, let your boss know. When your boss looks at your, and your pregnant stomach, they have to realize what you’re going through, and that it isn’t easy. Don’t hide your feelings, instead let them out, and let your boss be aware.
Eating – Also, when you’re working make sure you’re eating healthy. It is easy to set your lunch aside, wait until later, or to simply fill up on fast food because you don’t have the time. Don’t let yourself get into that routine, instead, make sure you’re getting the vitamins you need, and make sure you’re eating for the both of you!
Take breaks – We all know that works can be a little hectic, and overwhelming, but never give up your breaks! Always make sure you’re taking your breaks, taking time for yourself, and make sure to never over work yourself.
Working while pregnant isn’t easy, so make sure you consider a few of these tips. The most important thing about work is YOU, and your baby. That is number one, so make sure you don’t let anything else interfere with that!
