When we get married and start to have children, we are at our happiest point. We are happy newlyweds and we’re looking to explore life. A lot of young parents like to go on trips and vacations, or visit friends and family when they have a baby. When we are traveling with our baby, there are a few things that we need to remember to pack.
When our baby’s not in their comfort zone at home, we need to make sure they have their favorite items, and a few extra things!
What to bring when traveling with your baby:
Safety Items
- First aid kit – It is always a good idea to have this with you. Just simply keep it in your car when you’re traveling. You never know if they’ll get a bump or cut along the way.
Feeding Supplies
- Carry ready-to-use formula with you if you’re not breastfeeding. It is always good to have a bottle prepared.
- If you’re not breastfeeding, it’s important you bring along baby bottles for the formula.
- Depending on whether or not your baby is eating solids, pack just enough for your trip.
- In order to feed your baby solids, it’s important you bring along some baby utensils.
Diapering Supplies and Hygiene
- Be sure to bring diapers and plenty of them!
- You can’t bring diapers if you don’t bring wipes! These are just as important.
- Don’t forget your baby’s bathtub or bath supplies if you’re going to be gone for awhile.
Clothing to Wear
- Clothing – bring all sorts of clothing. Since you never know what kind of weather you’ll have, it’s important to plan for the unexpected!
Miscellaneous Items
- Bring a blanket for the car ride so they’re comfortable and warm during their naps.
- Don’t leave without packing their favorite blankets from their crib at home.
- Don’t forget your baby’s favorite toys so they can keep entertained as if they’re at home!
- Are they addicted to their pacifier? If so, don’t forget to bring one along!
On The Go Supplies
- Their stroller is a must if you don’t want to carry them everywhere.
- A baby backpack or diaper bag might be a great thing to consider. You can carry them around with you at all times.
- Bring a portable bed or Pack n’ Play if you’re going to be staying at a hotel. Sometimes they offer cribs, but it’s a good thing to be prepared for ones that don’t.
It is always a great idea to be prepared for traveling with your baby. Babies have a lot of items that they rely on and need to get them through their day. All babies are different with how well they travel, but if you bring these items along with you, you will most likely be fine. Have fun with your baby and be sure to take lots of pictures if you’re going on vacation!
