Giving your baby a bathe for the first time can be a little overwhelming. We’re not sure how often to bathe a baby, how to bathe them, how they’re going to react, and where to even bathe them. Babies are pretty unpredictable because either they like a bath or they don’t. Making your baby feel comfortable while giving them a bath is an important thing. We want to make sure it’s not a bad experience, but instead something they’ll enjoy. Continue reading below if you’re not sure where you should bathe your baby.
Bathtub -It is a good idea to use the bathtub when giving them a bath. You can find little baby tubs to place in your bathtub so that they’re upright, and easier to wash. These are a great choice, and can make bath time much easier for the both of you.
Kitchen sink -You can also use your kitchen sink to wash your baby. Simply put down a towel to separate them and the sink. It is also great if you have a squirting hose for your sink, it will make it easier to wash them down.
Tub – You can use a little tub as well. Fill it with water, hold them upright, and let them feel/play with the water. Any tub that will fit them comfortably will work. You know they won’t go far, that they’re right there, and that they’re above the water at all times. Also, you can take this tub into any room.
TIP: If you have a fireplace, babies love taking a bath by them because they’re still warm when they get out of the water.
It is also a good idea to get water temperature testers. These will tell you whether the water is too hot or not! Don’t let your baby get burnt by too hot of water, they’re more delicate and can’t handle warmer water like we can!
Giving a baby a bath can either be a lot of fun, or it can be a disaster. One thing you really want to make sure of is that they find something they’re comfortable in. If they have this it will make bath time easier for the both of you.
